Honduras has only a short Pacific coast but a long Caribbean shoreline, including the virtually uninhabited eastern Mosquito Coast. Between Guatemala and Nicaragua, Honduras borders the Caribbean Sea; between El Salvador and Nicaragua, it borders the Gulf of Fonseca in the North Pacific Ocean.
